more about me

I was born and raised in a family of 7 in East Tennessee. my father was the lighting director for the Marshall tucker band then a gaffer in television. my mother is an artist. I have vivid memories of my dad pointing out certain lighting techniques in movie scenes or award shows on the tv in the living room. my mom is the type of person to point out a sunset or pull over on the side of a road to capture an interesting landscape. without me knowing it at the time, these are the things that have shaped me in my career. i’m a lucky one.

photography was something that I kind of fell in to. I picked up my first dslr when my oldest son was born. the plan was to have “better quality” photos of my family (thank god the iPhone camera sucked in 2012). from there, it was family photos for friends and weddings. you’ve seen the trajectory many times i’m sure. but the shift for me happened when a good friend of mine told me to give advertising a shot. so I some how landed a role at a local agency (tombras), learned a ton while there, then after 8 years went out on my own. i owe a lot to that friend. he knows who he is.

I met my wife at a summer camp in Birmingham, Alabama. she was a camp counselor. I was a chaperone. a student of mine introduced us. I fell in love with her immediately. we have 3 amazing kiddos. two boys and a girl. 8th grade, 6th grade, and 3rd grade. they are so cool and I love them so much. WHEN I’M NOT ON SET, I CAN most likely BE FOUND AT Disney WORLD pushing a stroller, trying to keep pace with my wife. WE LOVE IT. IT’S OUR HAPPY PLACE. we have recently been on the Disney cruise kick. so that’s fun. oh, and WE HAVE 2 CATS. THEIR NAMES ARE REBA MCENTIRE & WILLIE NELSON.
